Multicultural communication in general practice, the relationship between communication and job satisfaction in health care providers, the assessment of non-directiveness during genetic counselling and the (im)possibilities of analysing communication sequences are just a few examples of research topics that have recently been dealt with at a PPI meeting. In addition, the PPI regularly serves as a forum in which a PhD-student can try out the defence of his or her thesis. Apart from that, discussions take place about relevant concepts such as patient-centeredness and mutual understanding between provider and patient.
